It was an event that no family, law enforcement agency, or media outlet wants to be informed of: “Deputy Killed In Overnight Shooting“. July 26, 2014 will mark the two-year anniversary of the death of Deputy William Mast Jr. The sorrow is still fresh, and tears are still shed.

Now nearly two years later, the widow of Deputy Mast made the brave choice to start a blog about the events regarding all that happened to her personally. At the time, Paige Mast was also just 4 weeks away from delivering their first child.

In an interview with WataugaRoads.com, Paige shared why she decided to start the blog.

“I started this blog as a way for me maybe reach out to others that might read our story and see that God is the only way through tragedy”.

“My faith in God and my salvation is what have got me this far, and it is my hope for tomorrow, because I know without a shadow of doubt that I will see my husband again one day. That keeps me going along with God's grace and knowing that He is carrying me through this time in my life”.

“If I can help someone else through their hardship and help them look to God, then there is some good out of the bad”.
