U.S. 321 Holiday Work Schedule Has No Lane Closures

Last Updated on July 1, 2015 1:57 pm

If you’re in the High Country for the holiday weekend, your trip through Blowing Rock will be free of flaggers.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation will not schedule any lane closures along the U.S. 321 widening project from 6 a.m. Thursday, July 2, through 6 p.m. Monday, July 6.  However, watch for workers and machinery outside of travel lanes, and obey posted speed limits.

Drivers should also stay alert for lane shifts on the northern end of the project, near Tanger Outlets and North Main Street/U.S. 221.

NCDOT encourages you to know before you go, with real time, statewide travel information from the Traveler Services section of the NCDOT website, or follow NCDOT on Twitter. You can access NCDOT Mobile, a version of the NCDOT website especially for mobile devices. Visit m.ncdot.gov from your mobile browser.

There is also a special project information line for the U.S. 321 Blowing Rock project at 828-964-3260, available weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will not be staffed Friday, July 3, in observance of the holiday.
