* UNTIL 215 AM EDT WEDNESDAY
* AT 809 PM EDT…DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN ACROSS THE
WARNED AREA. BETWEEN ONE AND TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAS ALREADY
FALLEN. ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAIN WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA BETWEEN 9 PM
AND MIDNIGHT. FLASH FLOODING IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN BETWEEN NOW AND
MIDNIGHT.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS…AS WELL AS LOW LYING AREAS ON ROADWAYS AND
UNDERPASSES. IF YOU ENCOUNTER A WATER COVERED ROAD…TURN AROUND
DON'T DROWN! STAY AWAY FROM DRAINAGE DITCHES AND STORM SEWERS.
RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS SHOULD MOVE TO HIGHER
GROUND NOW.
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO SEE THE
FLOODING. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED…MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND

4:08pm – scanner report of at least one tree down on highway 194 in Valle Crucis, possible another one near the S curves.
4:16pm – scanner report of tree down on Silverleaf Road in Zionville.
4:40pm – multiple scanner reports of trees down on Blue Ridge Parkway, 105 bypass and in Cove Creek.

Peak wind gust in Boone of 46 mph at 4:55pm
6:03pm per scanner – tree(s) on power line on Winterberry Trail in Foscoe.
6:06pm – 609 Blue Ridge Electric members without power in Watauga, 17 in Ashe, 10 in Avery.
6:37pm – Wonderland Trail and Laurel Lane has trees in the power lines. Use cautions in those areas.

7:33pm – Getting report of a lot of standing water on 321 between Blowing Rock and Boone. Be careful in that area.
7:36pm – The bridge on Dewitt Barnett Rd is under water now. Use alternate route.
7:39pm – Tree down on Broadstone Road around the 2200 block. It is blocking the right lane.
