Starting Monday, Aug. 24, U.S. 321 Business/South Main Street in Blowing Rock will be closed at its southern intersection with U.S. 321 near Blowing Rock Furniture Galleries.

The N.C. Department of Transportation will direct downtown through traffic from Main Street onto Sunset Drive to access U.S. 321. The detour is scheduled to be in place for a month, while crews build a new intersection at South Main Street and U.S. 321. All of Main Street is expected to reopen in time for leaf season.

The work is part of the overall widening and improvements underway on U.S. 321 through Blowing Rock. For more details, call the project information line at 828-964-3260.
