Traffic in the area of 421 and the 105 Extension was detoured on Tuesday afternoon due to a spill in the road. Just before 4pm, Boone Police were dispatched to the area for a truck, possibly a dump truck, that had spilled manure and waste in the road.
All north bound traffic on Hwy 421 / E King St , just before the intersection of Hwy 105 extension was detoured by officers onto Farthing St and back to 421 at Mac St or Council St. Crews with the Town of Boone street department and NCDOT assisted with the clean up.
Around 7:40pm Boone Police officers cleared the scene and all travel lanes were back open.
