Governor Pat McCrory will ask the North Carolina General Assembly to change the state statue to discontinue issuing Confederate flags on license plates. “The time is right to change this policy due to the recent Supreme Court ruling and the tragedy in Charleston,” McCrory Communications Director Josh Ellis tells multiple media outlets.
Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe has also announced his decision to pull the flag off state plates.
