The heavy rains overnight caused one local road to become impassable for a time due to a mudslide.
Elk Creek Road (SR1508) was open back up in the early morning hours of Thursday according to Kevin Whittington, Maintenance Engineer with NCDOT. He tells WataugaRoads.com that clean up continues and it should finished by noon on Friday.
