FOR FRIDAY MARCH 7, 2025

Watauga County Schools – Due to the potential for a number of downed tree limbs and to ensure increased visibility during daylight hours also providing additional time for melting, Watauga County Schools will operate on a two (2) hour delay on Friday, March 7. Staff may report on a two-hour delay if needed and should exercise caution while traveling.

Buses will travel Limited A routes with additional exceptions.

The Weather Team will continue to monitor road conditions overnight and into the early morning hours and should this decision need to be changed or routes need to be adjusted, it will be communicated by 8 a.m.

Avery County Schools will operate on a 2 hour delay for Friday, March 7th.

Our buses cannot run on the following roads:

White Pine, Blaine Norwood, Arnett, Dogwood Knob, John Greer, Reuben Wooten, Reservoir Hill, Ice Plant and Big Horse Creek.

We will check roads in the morning and let you know by 6:30am if we need to make a change.
