On January 22, at approximately 7:35 PM, Boone Police, Fire, and Watauga Medics responded to a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles on NC Hwy 105 near Dogwood Road.
As a result of the collision, Jacob Dylan Whitaker, 21 years-of-age, of Wake Forest, NC, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle, Jonathan Dylan Reeder, 21 years-of-age, of Sherrills Ford, NC, refused medical treatment. There were no other occupants in either vehicle.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
